Shredding & Recycling Manager
DEPARTMENT: Shredding & RecyclingSHIFT: M-F
SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Director of Business Services & Facilities, the Shredding & Recycling Manager will be responsible for the management & supervision of the warehouse, warehouse staff & drivers. Coordinates maintenance of all equipment and vehicles to insure reliability and safety. Manages all aspects of the day-to-day operations insuring a safe and orderly facility in compliance with all regulations and requirements. Develops and supports all staff through on-going communication and training activities to maintain an effective team. Ensures all incoming and outgoing inventory is processed according to schedule.
REQUIREMENTS:
· High School Diploma or equivalent; A.A. or B.A. degree preferred
· At least 3 or more years of supervisory experience; in a like setting
· Valid California Driver’s License
· First Aid and CPR Certification
· Valid vehicle registration and proof of insurance
· Clean DMV & background record
· Maintain Forklift Operator Certification
· Must be well organized and detail oriented, with ability to prioritize work assignments, ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
· Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
· Proficient in Microsoft Office

· · Manage warehouse and route operations
· Ensure effective, safe operations by implementing procedures and policies
· Inspect, maintain, and manage warehouse equipment and vehicles
· Coordinate shipments of recyclable materials
· Coordinate recycling collection routes to optimize service & efficiency
· Manage department budget to meet financial targets
· Complete regulatory statistical reports
· Train all staff on operating equipment, policies & procedures
· Supervise departmental staff and conduct performance evaluations
· Operate processing equipment as needed
· Identify or research opportunities for potential departmental growth
· Oversee campaigns to promote recycling programs in the community
· Attend & oversee community collection events
· Provide excellent customer service
· Work within a team setting to ensure all clients are meeting goals and objectives
· Ensure all client documentation is completed correctly and in a timely manner
· Other duties as assigned
Work Environment:
a. This position requires working in a warehouse during inclement weather
conditions and in a variety of public/community and office settings. Environment
will have constant interruptions.
Physical Demands:
b. The employee must have the ability to lift, pull, push, run and
manipulate/use adaptive equipment, which requires strength and gross
motor and fine motor coordination. The employee must be able to
perform CPR and administer First-Aid. The position
requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time. The position
requires ability to operate an automobile, computer, heavy equipment. The
employee must be able to climb stairs and provide services to clients in
various public/community settings.
Note duties are subject to change due to agency growth or restructure. Daily operations are also subject to change based on outcome measurements of systems incorporated to program operations.
