The New Hire Trainer provides initial training to Sales, Yard, and Inventory newly hired employees for their first two weeks at Dunn Lumber. This position teaches New Hires about the basics of company policies, procedures, computer software, and provides product knowledge. This position introduces New Hires to Dunn Lumber's culture and values while setting clear expectations for the job ahead. New Hire Trainers are the first true interaction a new employee has at Dunn and they get the opportunity to set up New Hires for success at Dunn.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Welcome New Hires and create an inviting environment for their first two weeks.
Promote the Dunn culture, introduce Dunn Lumber service values and PACE.
Be an ongoing resource and offer support for New Hires after they complete two-week training.
Maintain proficiency in software platforms including: BisTrack, Kronos, Teams, Bridge, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office Suite.
Maintain an understanding of the products Dunn Lumber carries.
Understand basic department operations within the company, and provide feedback received while out at the retail stores.
Identify learning needs with assigned trainees and propose/provide creative solutions to help employees retain information.
Assess and communicate New Hire successes and areas for improvement during the training period to the Training Manager and appropriate Branch Manager
Other duties as assigned.
General typing and computer use abilities.
Comfortable navigating Microsoft Suite applications.
Previous Mentoring and/or Leadership experience.
Previous teaching experience.
This is an entry level position with a paid two-week training period and continued learning while employed. The two-week training is completed on site with your supervisor or at a Training Yard with the Training Department. The training for this position will focus on product knowledge, Point of Sale software, and yard operations.
This position is in a yard/retail environment. This position is largely active and requires employees to be on their feet for most of the shift. The noise level is moderate to loud.
