Summary of Job:
As As a Landscape Mechanic, you will ensure the reliability and functionality of our landscape equipment by performing maintenance and minor repairs on two cycle and light powered equipment. This equipment is regularly used by the field personnel to accomplish a variety of landscape maintenance work on a daily schedule. The preventative maintenance work that this role accomplishes is extremely valuable in preventing equipment failures or major equipment damage that would prevent employees from accomplishing daily work. The Landscape Mechanic role is mechanically inclined and able to perform equipment repairs as needed.a Landscape Mechanic, you will ensure the reliability and functionality of our landscape equipment by performing maintenance and minor repairs on two cycle and light powered equipment. Key Job Responsibilities:
· Evaluate the return and condition of landscape equipment, make repair recommendations
· Complete equipment work service orders, sharpen blades, replace string lines, etc.
· Complete repairs on 2-cycle and other landscape equipment as necessary
· Perform preventative maintenance such as oil changes, tire changes and other vehicle services
· Ability to drive vehicles for services and maintenance as needed to yard or offsite location as needed
· Ensure equipment is clean, properly maintained and in good working order
· Provide updates, recommendations and regular communication to Supervisor
· Follow safety rules and regulations, assist Shop Crew to meet daily goals
o Ensure all equipment and vehicles meet safety standards and regulations, conducting safety checks and making necessary adjustments
· Assist Shop Crew to meet daily goals
· Regular attendance as scheduled required
The following skills are required:
Qualifications:
Experience: (Minimum work background which provides the skills necessary for successful performance)
· Requires Arizona Driver License and an acceptable MVR record (for 39 months)
· Minimum of 1 year of shop, mechanic or fleet experience
· Must be able to operate and repair a variety of power-driven equipment
· Ability to time manage a variety of repairs or scheduled maintenance to accomplish daily shop goals
· Mechanically inclined mindset to diagnose, recommend or make equipment repairs
· Able to perform maintenance on a variety of 2 cycle tools and equipment
· Must provide your own set of basic shop tools
· Ability to use technology like a smart phone, tablet, computer, computer systems used for communicating or work tracking
Physical Demands/Working Conditions:
- Able to lift 50 lbs. (Equipment, tools, and supplies may need to be lifted, carried and or pushed)
- Able to walk/stand for long periods of time
- Able to reach, bend, twist, kneel, stoop, squat, crouch and grasp along with repetitive movements may part of daily job duties
- Able to work under extreme and often adverse climatic conditions
