Shop Attendant/Driver

Job Summary

A Shop Assistant performs different types of support at Premier Demolition’s facilities and jobsites. Daily work includes delivering equipment/tools to job sites in a company truck and trailer, help the shop manager with maintenance of equipment, keep the shop and yard clean and organized.  Work hours may vary based on project schedule requirements so the ability to work overtime is necessary. 
 
Key Accountabilities:

• Must have a clean 39 month driving record.
• Delivering equipment to job sites safely with a truck and trailer and maintain communication with shop manager while in the field.
• Completing general and daily responsibilities as assigned.
• Educate the demolition crew on preventative maintenance and safety regulations, and provide general customer service on the phone and in person. 
• Support the shop manager with maintenance and repair of equipment, both in the shop and at the project sites.   
• Proactively participates in training to become a skilled mechanic. 
• Ensures the maintenance shop is properly maintained, functional, and clean.  
• Establishes and monitors preventative maintenance schedule on equipment.   
• Supports on the job projects including identifying all sources of equipment maintenance, fueling, repair, and spare parts.
• Participates in the equipment evaluation process to determine buy/sell needs.  
• Maintains a positive working relationship with other divisions of the company.   

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with all safety and security protocols
• Maintain minimal scrap and quality for shop operations
• Resolve problems when they arise
• Relay problems, conflicts, job status, and other relevant information to Shop Manager
• Maintain basic shop cleanliness requirements
• Ensure all equipment and supplies are delivered to the job, received as ordered, and in good condition
• Ensure that all equipment and supplies are returned from a job, in good condition, and returned to inventory
• Support with building and grounds maintenance
• Read and interpret instruction manuals and pertinent literature
• Perform assigned tasks in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner
• Other duties as assigned

 Requirements

• Must have a clean 39 month driving record
• Knowledge of heavy equipment, trucks/pickups, small tools, and safety
• Knowledge of construction procedures, equipment, and OSHA guideline
• Ability to communicate and report effectively in a timely manner
• Problem-solving abilities
