Shipyard Superintendent:
Reinauer Transportation is seeking a Shipyard Superintendent, this is a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations within the shipyard.
Location: Staten Island, NY, frequent travel is required to attend shipyards during vessel maintenance and repair periods.
Reporting To: Shipyard Manager
Responsibilities:
I-Project Management
· Plan, schedule, and supervise shipyard projects to ensure timely and cost-effective completion.
· Monitor project progress, identifying and addressing potential issues to prevent delays.
· Allocate resources effectively, including manpower, equipment, and materials, to optimize shipyard operations.
· Collaborate with procurement to ensure timely availability of required resources.
II-Quality Assurance and Compliance
· Implement and enforce quality control measures to meet or exceed industry standards.
· Conduct regular inspections to ensure workmanship and safety compliance.
· Stay abreast of maritime regulations and ensure that shipyard activities comply with local, state, and federal laws.
· Facilitate ABS and USCG inspections and maintain documentation surrounding vessel repairs and dry docking.
III-Communication and Reporting
· Assist with writing vessel shipyard specifications and preparing annual budgets.
· Communicate with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams.
· Provide regular progress reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
Experience:
· 5 years previous work experience related to marine engineering and mechanical systems, knowledge of tug and barge machinery and equipment is required.
· In-depth knowledge of shipyard operations, including repair and construction processes.
· Proven ability to prioritize and work on multiple projects with competing deadlines.
· Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
· Familiarity with relevant safety and environmental regulations.
Salary Range $90,000 - $115,000
