Shipping Team Lead - 2nd shift



Responsibilities:

The Shipping Team Lead is a hands-on leader, a role model with high integrity, positive influence, and strong business acumen embracing a safe collaborative and data driven work environment. Possesses a continuous improvement mindset, ability to manage through change and has a passion for exceeding customer expectations.

  • On Time Delivery
    • Ensure on time delivery of all product on the dock is above 99%
    • Ensure shipping accuracy
    • Gap analysis, understand the root cause of any KPI misses
    • Asset Management
    • Lead daily LDM meeting with all team members
  • Safety
    • Ensure all PIV equipment is inspected and guidelines followed
    • Ensure all team members follow established MHE guidelines
    • Guarantee and maintain a safe work environment
  • Leadership
    • Know and understand all operations within the assigned area
    • Lead the shift in an open, honest and collaborative manner
    • Must be available at all times for team members input, questions, and concerns
    • Challenge the status quo and lead by example
    • Maintain open communication in motivating employees to meet quality and productivity goals
  • Training
    • Ensure assigned shift is cross trained and able to adapt as required based on call outs and vacations
    • Utilize Work Instructions in training and ensure comprehension through proper feedback
    • Ensures onboarding requirements and timelines for new employees are met
    • Assist in training and coaching of employees during and after the onboarding process
  • Performance improvement
    • Emphasize LEAN methodologies and focus on the Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth of HBP products
    • Assist Area Manager in validation of Work Instructions as needed
    • Utilize problem solving techniques, teamwork building strategies, process control and continuous process improvement tools to meet or exceed the goals and objectives of HBP
  • Other related duties as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 2-4 years in material handling in a manufacturing environment
    • 2 years in a leadership capacity
  • High School Diploma/GED, Associates degree preferred
  • Knowledge of Lean manufacturing and 6S, concepts, practices and procedures is desirable

Qualifications and Preferred Skills

  • Experience with motorized material handling equipment
    • **Massachusetts Hoisting License a Plus

  • Excellent track record driving employee engagement
  • Strong ability to communicate with outside stake holders in a clear, concise and professional manner

  • Proven ability to coach and develop a team in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong organizational, problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Computer Literate – Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Outlook, Excel and Word, SAP preferred
  • Experience with motorized material handling equipment - Massachusetts Hoisting License a Plus
  • Dedicated to quality in all aspects of the job
  • Bi-lingual a plus
