Position Overview:
- The Shipping Team Lead provides direction to the shipping operations and manage the performance of logistical tasks assigned to the team for meeting performance demands. The lead will be reporting to the Shipping Operations Supervisor.
In this role you:
- Dispatch, and manage performance of logistics tasks assigned to team for meeting the performance demands of clients.
- Prevent and troubleshoot logistics incidents that may cause or had caused in-transit delays.
- Identifies and communicates opportunities for system related or operational improvements to their direct leader.
- Recommends process improvements for area of responsibility
- Ensures problem resolution; including identifying issues, applying critical thinking to determine the best course of action, and implementing solutions
- Works to maximize asset utilization to ensure full truckloads are being shipped.
- Responsible for driver load monitoring, including resolving any issues that may affect the scheduled times for pickup or delivery, while proactively communicating to the affected customer.
- Provide direct supervision for employees in assigned area.
- Participate in employment and staffing decisions, performance management decisions.
- Drive warehouse wide Continuous Improvement culture and ideas
- Maintain departmental personnel records and reports on safety, quality, productivity, and attendance.
- Champion use of Eaton systems and tools to ensure appropriate execution within assigned areas
- Engage direct reports in manufacturing LEAN initiatives including but not limited to operator standard work, 5S, pull systems, empowered work teams, and structured problem solving.
- Provide coaching, motivation, and counseling to employees to encourage optimum performance and continued skill development.
- Implement and support behavioral based zero incident safety culture.
- Fosters an environment that promotes Eaton's goals, philosophies, and encourages continuous improvement.
- Communicate company policies, procedures, and guidelines and ensure they are consistently practiced.
- Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively with internal departments and external customers to expedite the workflow and ensure the established quality expectations.

Qualifications
Basic (Required) Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 2+ years of experience within a leadership role and having direct reports
- 2+ years of experience within a shipping department
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and Outlook
- Relocation assistance is not available for this position only candidates within a 50-mile radius of the facility will be considered. Active-Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience using WMS
- Experience with logistics and tracking shipments.
- Knowledge with troubleshooting shipment errors for billing or load monitoring.
- Experience in a leadership role within a warehouse or distribution center.
- Ability to work daily and/or weekend overtime, willingness to flex to different areas or local plants as needed
- Communicate with Warehouse Associates about inventory levels and discrepancies.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time. Repetitive lifting, bending, and squatting is inherent to this position.
- Willingness to become certified in operation of forklifts to transport and locate equipment and materials to required areas
