We are seeking a Shipping Supervisor to join our hard working and fast-paced team in McMinnville, OR. The Shipping Supervisor ensures all products are accurately staged at shipping doors and the preloading of transports is accomplished in a safe, correct, and timely manner. Trains and monitors work performance of shipping employees and provides coaching as needed to improve performance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitors for safety concerns while shipping and transport personnel staging and moving loaded or empty racks.
Reports any and all concerns to Safety Manager, while also taking action to resolve them.
Works closely with affiliate shipping and transport supervisor personnel.
Monitors deliveries and any concerns that arise in department.
Supervises shipping and transport personnel as required.
Monitors all shipping equipment needs.
Monitors all products received and sent to sales depots and affiliate bakeries.
Monitors and controls unaccounted for products.
Figures daily rack counts.
Investigates all miss-shipped racks and product problems.
Makes necessary overload adjustments as needed.
Communicates to sales management team on late transports.
Reduces shipping and transportation damage by giving instructions on proper handling.
Monitors and makes recommendations for continuous improvement in operations and cost control.
Checks product when necessary.
Loads transport trailers as needed.
Support and adherence to Franz Family Bakery Core Values.
Additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.
Assists with donations and sales requests.
Job Requirements:
Minimum one (1) year of experience in shipping operations, preferably in a bakery or food manufacturing facility.
Thorough knowledge of all bakery operations including: procedures, scheduling, safety, etc.
Knowledge in Microsoft Office Product Suite.
Minimum of one (1) year related supervisory or Lead position experience.
Proven supervisory skills to train, direct and/or lead team or shift of assigned employees.
Ability to work with other departments and supervisors to achieve goals for bakery operations.
