Position Purpose/Summary: Primary function of this position is to oversee, organize, report on, and problem solve shipping and receiving activities for the assigned business entity.

Position Responsibilities-Tasks-Deliverables

All duties as assigned and the following specific activities.
- Enforce Hazardous Material Handling Procedures and oversee Initial and Annual Training
- Direct and advise personnel in all Shipping & Receiving procedures.
- Responsible to oversee day to day operations of the Shipping & Receiving department & employees.
- Prepare shipping documents, receiving documents and contracts.
- Inform customers and planners by e-mail or telephone confirmation numbers for delivery’s and shipments, shipping and receiving dates, and any anticipated delays.
- Maintain shipping and receiving delivery schedules.
- Learn and stay in compliance with protocols and SOP’s.
- Manage time effectively to complete assignments in expected time frame.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Communicate to the Designated Manager all or any issues found in the Shipping-Receiving office.
- Performing day-to-day tasks such as maintaining information files and processing paperwork.
- Processing Information compiling, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, auditing, or verifying information or data.
- Documenting/Recording Information entering, transcribing, recording, storing, or maintaining information in written or electronic/magnetic form.
- File copies of orders received, shipments and post orders on records.
- Learning and using customer’s databases SAP and Digital Supplier.
- Analyze and resolve, or assist workers in solving daily work problems
- Train employees on SOP’s and ensure the training effectiveness and application of job skills
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Ensure on-time shipment of all orders
- Responsible for the department’s error-free processing of all received inventory
- Create and maintain an up-to-date training schedule for employees on all pertinent, cross-functional processes and procedures
- Avoidance of customer complaints for handling / delivery or communication
- Considers cost-efficient decisions and efficiencies without compromising service.
Knowledge-Skills-Abilities (minimum)
Education:
- H.S. Diploma or GED; required; higher education very helpful
Experience :
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience in a warehouse environment
- Proven experience with high volume transactions and finite deadlines
- Safety competent; favorable track record highly desired
- Minimum of 3 years having been responsible for direct reports; selection, training, discipline, reward/recognition.
- Must have ability to work well under pressure
- Strong Mathematical abilities
Technology/Software:
- Strong Microsoft Office Proficiency
- Shipping software competency required
- Time and attendance software: Novatime or similar system
Communication:
- Must have good communication skills to productively interact with others and complete duties as expected.
- Bilingual English/Spanish helpful
Physical Capabilities
Strength: Must be able to regularly lift 55 lbs.
Movement: Must be able to stand / walk for an entire eight hour shift. Occasional bending, crouching, and crawling
Hearing: Must be able to hear and understand work direction in a loud, distracting environment
Vision: Must be able to judge distance, identify details, and view computer screen regularly
