Shipping and Receiving Supervisor Position Summary:
This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient work environment and for supervising the Shipping department. The position is responsible for leading and coordinating all activities of Shipping & Receiving and providing leadership and direction to all team members. The position is also responsible for training other employees in the safe and efficient operation of the department.
Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Essential Functions:

• Promote and comply with all Pregis Safety Standards at the facility. Work with H&S to implement and train on the safety standards as well as the STOP safety and Safestart program.
• Provide support to all plant safety teams as well as corporate safety teams as needed.
• Promote interactive communication between all departments. Influence employees through positive motivation. .
• Ensure that production demands are met and product specifications are followed to minimize scrap and enhance quality to our customers. Understand capabilities and optimize productivity.
• Provide oversight of product quality in the shipping department to ensure customer needs are met.
• Effectively manage labor costs to meet plant gross profit goals through strategic planning. Complete time cards for all employees in production and shipping each week to turn over to HR for payroll completion.
• Work closely with the Maintenance Team to keep all equipment operating at the highest levels of safety and efficiency that can be obtained. Work closely with the Production Supervisors to ensure quality products are produced and delivered to the customers as desired.
• Other duties as assigned.

Dimensions of this Position:
The Shipping Supervisor will be expected to provide leadership in all facets of the production and warehouse departments including but not limited to safety, quality, and productivity. The Shift Supervisor will also insure that all policies and procedures are being followed and that the housekeeping in the assigned area is maintained at an acceptable level.
Decision Making / Approval Authority:

• Train on safely loading and unloading using best practices following LOTO procedures.
• Following established escalation process for locating product.
• Maintaining AOP and KPI reports.
• Lead investigation of all logistics CCI's.
• When to send temporary or employees home or to other departments if more people are available than needed.
• Input regarding the hiring, firing, or discipline of any employees.

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor Job Requirements:
Education / Experience:

• BS in a business related field required.
• 5+ years in a manufacturing environment
• Supervisory experience is a plus

Skills & Training:

• Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work well with all levels of the organization
• Able to handle conflict in a mature and consistent manner
• Proficiency with Microsoft Applications
