Shipping / Receiving Delivery Driver

Job Description:

Pay: $22 to $25 per hour DOE

Must have an active and Valid CDL with a clean driving record.

Delivery Drivers are individuals who are responsible for transporting parts and materials on behalf of the
company. They typically collect items for shipment, load their own vehicle, and deliver the items to their
destination. Our Delivery Drivers operate on their own most of the day. This role demands a high level of
integrity and responsibility. Delivery drivers must deliver items at an agreed-upon time and in good
condition, in a safe manner. Delivery drivers are relied upon to be safe while on the road, be a good
company representative to internal and external customers as well as the public at-large.

Company Driver Job Duties
• Perform deliveries to other company locations as well as local and regional vendors and
customers in an efficient and safe manner.
• Adhere to all DOT and OSHA regulations, driving laws, and timekeeping regulations.
• Work with other S&R associates and company management to plan daily delivery routes.
• Load and unload trucks using fork lifts, or other equipment.
• Operate commercial vehicles such as vans, pickup trucks, flat bed trucks, and box trucks (26’
or under).
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
• Maintains continuity among work days by documenting and communicating actions,
irregularities, and continuing needs.
• Perform basic maintenance of vehicles. Also schedule repairs as needed.
• Ensure proper paperwork for deliveries is completed and given to the finance department as
needed on a daily basis.
• Communicate any issues with deliveries to the appropriate parties in a timely manner.
• Assist in other functions of the Shipping and Receiving Department as needed, including but
not limited to:
o Covering department during employee absences
o Cross training to understand all aspects of the department
o Being a good team player for the department
Company Driver Skills and Qualifications:
• Must have and maintain a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL-C or CDL-B).
• Must complete yearly DOT medical certifications when required (company will pay fees)
• Experience operating heavy equipment preferred (Fork lift, crane, etc)
• Must be able and willing to work outside, in various weather conditions.
• Ability to lift over 50lbs unassisted. Occasionally lift 100lbs unassisted, safely.
Desired Computer/Equipment Skills
• Windows based operating systems
• UPS World Ship and other logistics software experience preferred
• Able and willing to learn new computer tasks as needed
• Able and willing to communicate via cellphone (text, email, voice) on a regular basis with
process partners.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
This job operates in an industrial manufacturing environment. While performing the duties of this job,
the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and
vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position
is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and
climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision
abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth
perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Some overtime and weekend work is also possible.

Travel
This position travels daily via company vehicle to locations locally and regionally in all weather
conditions. Overnight travel is not required.
Required Education and Experience
• High School Degree
• 5 years of experience as a OTR or local deliver driver
• Current DOT Medical Certification required
• Current Commercial Driver’s License and clean driving record required
