What You'll Do
Under the direction of the Value Stream Manager and Shipping & Receiving Supervisor, this position is responsible for receiving and verifying incoming product, including parts and other manufacturing supplies, filling customer orders and processing those orders through authorized logistics and shipping providers. This role carries a need for accuracy and integrity as an up-to-date inventory system is integral to plant operations. The Shipping & Receiving Team Member is a team player and is able to work independently and also as a contributory member of a team.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.
  • Pick, pack, ship, and invoice orders based on printed order shipping list or shipping request.
  • Receive parts and items (physical and system transactions), verify against packing slip or material traveler, and deliver material to proper inventory location.
  • Work with Planners, Customer Service, and Buyers to resolve issues as needed.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities and pro-actively identify opportunities to improve processes in your area.
  • Follow all standard operating procedures, including CTPAT.
  • Cycle count parts and tools as required.

Physical Requirements
  • Continuous standing; repetitive motion of hand/wrist.
  • Ability to lift 1-40 pounds independently.
  • Frequent bending; twisting; crouching; repetitive motion of elbow/shoulder; pushing/pulling.
  • Intermittent walking.

Work Environment
  • Exposure to typical manufacturing areas and will require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety shoes, safety glasses, and in some areas hearing protection may be required.
  • The work environment may include their own workstation equipped with a computer as required for the job.
  • Team member must be mobile enough to navigate the manufacturing shop floor safely including walking and standing for up to four hours at a time.
  • The physical environment may require working both inside and outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience using proper lifting technique, lifting devices (chains, straps, slings), electric pallet jack, forklift, hand truck and overhead crane preferred.
  • Previous shipping and/or receiving experience highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Navision and 3rd party logistics provider software programs preferred.
  • Basic familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite software programs.
