Shift - 1st Shift, Monday-Friday, 6:00 am - 2:30 pm
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assists with planning and directing daily work schedule to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. Enter shipping information on computer system. Assist in other areas as directed by supervisor.
Responsibilities:
- Plans delivery by organizing truck loads and routing schedules
- Calls external customers to coordinate deliveries, and provide great customer service
- Works closely with drivers to ensure the load are handled in the most productive manner
- Communicates all manifests, add-ons or changes for loaders, drivers and customers
- Works closely with dock supervisors to ensure accurate shipments.
- Assist drivers with any questions, concerns or variances on their load
- Coordinate with line carriers to ensure on time delivery of product
- Notify internal customers of variances such as back orders or delays and respond to inquiries
- Record and update deliveries in Road Net, Freedman and excel spreadsheets
Skills & Knowledge:
- Ability to work independently with the skill to ascertain work-load priorities, define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
- Verbal ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from employees, managers, and customers
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as shipping instructions and procedural manuals.
- Ability to understand units of measure
- Must be proficient with computer system; able to navigate, enter, and manage data on computer systems (Excel, Word, outlook)
- 2 years clerical and/or customer service experience
- 1-2 years of logistics or routing experience preferred
- Shipping experience a plus
