SalaryJob Overview: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our warehouse team as a Shipping and Receiving Specialist. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient flow of goods in and out of our warehouse. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to handling Shipping and receiving tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Shipping Duties:
- Prepare and pack outgoing shipments in accordance with established procedures and shipping regulations.
- Generate shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
- Coordinate with shipping carriers to schedule pickups and track shipments in transit.
- Inspect outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Maintain organized records of outgoing shipments, including tracking information and shipping documentation.
- Receiving Duties:
- Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and quality.
- Verify the contents of shipments against packing slips and purchase orders.
- Unload and label incoming goods, ensuring proper storage in designated areas.
- Collaborate with suppliers and carriers to resolve any discrepancies or issues with incoming shipments.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of received shipments in the inventory management system.
- Inventory Management:
- Perform regular cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
- Reconcile inventory discrepancies and report any issues to the General Manager.
- Monitor stock levels and communicate reorder needs to the team.
- Communication:
- Collaborate with other warehouse team members, as well as shipping carriers and suppliers, to coordinate the timely movement of goods.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments to provide updates on shipment statuses and resolve any issues.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
- Ensure compliance with all Shipping and receiving regulations and procedures.
- Participate in training programs related to safety and compliance as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
- Proven experience in a Shipping and receiving role within a warehouse environment.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and shipping software.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in handling shipments
- Forklift experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
