The RB Birge Company is a leader in hydraulic and industrial supplies, gaskets,
rubber, tubing, and hose, and we are looking for a Shipping and
Receiving/Inventory Control Specialist.
This position will ensure the efficient management of shipping operations and
inventory control as well as the flow of materials and products. Your primary
responsibilities will include overseeing all aspects of the Shipping and receiving
process, maintaining accurate inventory records, coordinating with internal
departments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities:
Shipping Management:
- Ensure proper packaging, labeling, and handling of industrial supplies for safe transportation.
- Receive and sign for deliveries.
- Coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs agents to ensure timely delivery of shipments.
- Prepare and process domestic and international shipments of industrial supplies in accordance with shipping regulations and customer requirements.
Inventory Control & Material Flow Management:
- Maintain inventory computer system (P 21 Software), which includes tracking, recording, and reporting of inventory levels.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
Documentation and Recordkeeping:
- Maintain accurate Shipping and inventory records, including tracking numbers, delivery confirmations, and stock transactions.
- Generate shipping reports, inventory reports, and other documentation as required.
Compliance and Quality:
- Ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines, including FDA regulations, ISO standards, and any other applicable regulations.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality standards.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Required: 1 year of Shipping & Receiving Experience within manufacturing industry.
- Knowledge of domestic and international shipping regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
- Familiarity with inventory management software systems; experience with P 21 software a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communication skills to interact with internal teams, customers, and external partners.
- Occasionally perform physical activities including lifting (up to 50 lbs. unassisted).
- Valid Driver's License.
