Shipper/Receiver

Reporting to the LOGISTICS & MATERIALS MANAGER the SHIPPER/RECEIVERwill be responsible for daily operations and plant requirements as it relates to the running of the plant. Materials coordinators will directly act as the key point of contact for the plant teams and suppliers.  The role will require utilization of the ERP/MRP system for optimized results and management.  The SHIPPER/RECEIVER ensures incoming product quantity, pricing and quality matches the purchase order or Bill of Materials requirements and supports stock levels and organization of job kits for tool builds.  Internal customer satisfaction is the SHIPPER/RECEIVER responsibility.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage shipping/receiving function and oversee documenting incoming materials at plant location.
• Lead incoming and outbound materials management and distribution for jobs and overall division.
• Support Logistics & Materials Manager efforts to reduce and optimize inventory and turns.
• Provide Point of contact with suppliers and interface for operations. Lead expediting of freight with suppliers and acting as key point of contact for plant and supplier after orders are placed.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives with suppliers for streamlining ordering, receiving and return process.
• Learn & utilize Epicor ERP/MRP system to support and create documentation, reports and other related data management of materials management for the plant.
• Support planning and schedules with drivers for customer shipments and product for inter-city, shipments.
• Prepare paperwork and all electronic related documentation as needed for incoming/outgoing materials and related requirements.
• Operation of Crane and Fork Truck as required from time to time.
• Responsible for maintaining safe operations and keeping work area clean and organized and adhering to safety procedures and regulations.

COLLABORATIONS & PARTNERSHIP RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Liaise with various plant team members regarding shipping/receiving and incoming/outgoing materials
• Support efforts with materials coordinator for inventory control & materials management.
• Provide input towards improvements on internal procedures and support implementation.
• Support resolution of receiving and shipping issues as needed.
• Participate and support in required meetings and training as requested.
• Supports operations through utilization of ERP/MRP system.
• Supports quality, program management and supply chain teams.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS FOR THE ROLE:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic Microsoft Office knowledge (Outlook and Excel) 
• Ability to perform under pressure and work independently
• Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines as required
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication and relationship building skills
• Proficient in time management and communication skills
• 3+ years’ experience in managing and supporting materials coordination within a similar industry & work environment
• Previous experience in Shipping/Receiving is an asset to applicants
• Ability to utilize ERP/MRP and data input as needed.
• Ability to left 50LBS or less.
• Ability to work some overtime and some weekends on call as required
• Successful applicants will be required to complete a background check
