Job Description:Salary: $35.00 Ship Superintendent (San Diego, CA 92113) Lead Marine San Diego, CA 92113 Full Time The LEAD Marine team aims to build trusting partnerships with candidates seeking long term opportunities in the ship building and ship repair industries nationwide. We work with some of the largest international defense contractors and private yards and will leverage your work experience to match your skills with the right company. $30.00- $40.00/hour depending on experience 1st shift We are seeking a Ship Superintendent that will contribute to our client’s organizational growth ensuring that work performed aboard ships meets or exceeds their client’s expectations. Qualified candidates must have ship repair experience and knowledge. -Responsibilities: • Responsible for the coordination of all engineering, purchasing, scheduling and subcontract work including managing he day to day efforts of all trades personnel assigned to the project. • Write and submit checkpoint callout (26-I) forms. • Review shipboard drawings and references. • Ensure safe work conditions in production areas. • Coordinate with management, owners and yard personnel to discuss and resolve issues related to specifications of projects and scope of work to be performed to ensure all milestones, budgets, operating costs, reliability and planning are met. Also address and resole all matter such as work procedures, complaints and project issues.• Prepare compartment completion lists and ensure departments are working in proper sequence of construction while in compliance with safety, environment, quality and efficienty. • Plan, organize and direct activities concerned with the projects feasibility and problem areas that may occur in the construction process. Ensure that all established production procedures are aligned with the ship requirements, all laws, regulation policies and procedures. • Monitor accuracy of reporting and status of project cost and schedules. -Requirements: • The Ship Superintendent should have at least 5 years of experience and must have knowledge of NAVSEA standard items and applicable regulations. • Strong facilitation and conflict resolution skills.• Read and understand work specifications, blueprints, standard items and Mil-Standards. Be able to use Excel and Word as well as have basic math skills. • Strong communication skills verbally and in writing to communicate with Prime Contractor representatives. • Ability to read, interpret and follow procedures, drawings and schematics. Competent in reading and understanding specifications and drawings. • Self motivated and work with minimal supervision and work in a team environment. • Able and willing to work onboard ships which will also require be able to climb ladders, scaffold, work in confined spaces and on platforms off of the ground. • Willing to travel as needed.
