Job Title: Shelter Supervisor
Work Schedule:
- 1st Shift, Part-time
- Normal paid hours: 5:00 PM - 8:00 AM, Monday through Sunday.
- Weekend paid hours: Saturday and Sunday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.
Pay for Shelter Supervisor: Starting at $14/hour.

Shelter SupervisorDuties and Responsibilities:
- Client Safety and Assistance:
- Monitor the facility to ensure the safety of clients and shelter space.
- Available for emergency assistance to clients during night shifts, with a designated nap time allowed.
- Report any issues involving clients that may pose harm to themselves or others to the Executive Director or Shelter Director.
- Emergency Services and Adherence to Policies:
- Contact emergency services promptly when needed, such as Fire Department, Police, and Medical personnel.
- Adhere to agency policies, procedures, and professional code of ethics.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain a safe, organized, clean, and supportive environment within the shelter.
- Supervise and delegate chores to clients, including washing bedding, cleaning their shelter area, and designated areas.
- Thoroughly clean the kitchen and dining hall every night, including sinks, surfaces, tabletops, chairs, and floors.
- Other Duties:
- Perform sundry duties as assigned.
- Assist clients in resolving conflicts with others living in the shelter.
- Participate in program, department, and agency meetings, as well as relevant trainings.
- Communicate observations and interactions with clients to the Shelter Case Manager through documentation in a daily log.
- Meal Coordination and Maintenance:
- Oversee the nightly provision of meals provided by the community.
- Serve a light breakfast Monday-Sunday, including cereal, pastries, toast, juice, and coffee.
- Perform laundry duties for FACC maintenance towels, including washing, folding, and storage.
Shelter SupervisorQualifications:
- High School or GED graduate.
- Ability to maintain clear personal and professional boundaries.
- Experience working effectively in a constantly changing and sometimes demanding or chaotic environment.
- Ability to work with a diverse population with sensitivity to cultural, religious, sexual orientation, racial, age, and mental health differences.
- Physical ability to lift 25 pounds, sit, stand, bend, reach, and perform cleaning duties.
- Detail-oriented, organized, able to take directions/suggestions, and a self-starter who doesn't require constant supervision.
