Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Shellfish Packer to join our team. As a Packer, you will be responsible for preparing and packaging products for shipment. This is a crucial role in ensuring the quality and efficiency of our operations.

Duties:

- Dissect and inspect products to ensure they meet quality standards

- Pack products into appropriate containers, following specific instructions

- Label packages with accurate information, including product codes and expiration dates following FDA and Dept. of Agricultural guidelines.

- Organize and arrange packaged products in an orderly manner

- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the packaging area

- Assist with inventory management by counting and recording packaged products

- Collaborate with team members to meet production goals and deadlines

Experience:

- Previous experience in packaging or warehouse operations is preferred but not required

- Basic math skills for counting and recording inventory accurately

- Ability to follow instructions and work independently with supervision

- Strong attention to detail to ensure proper packaging and labeling

- Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects if necessary

Skills:

- Shellfish care: Knowledge of basic seafood/shellfish is a plus

- Data collection: Ability to collect data accurately for inventory management purposes

- Basic math: Proficient in basic mathematical calculations for counting inventory accurately

- Mechanical knowledge: Understanding of basic mechanical principles for operating packaging machinery
