Sheet Metal Worker

Location: Kent, OH
Pay Rate: $19 to $21 per hour, based on experience
Shift Hours: Monday thru Friday, Day Shift

Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience welding stainless steel Sheet Metal
· Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
· Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
· Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
· Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use PPE (face-shield, gloves etc.)
· Deftness and attention to detail
· Proficient in English
· Successful completion of a relevant apprenticeship program is required
· Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) will be a plus
Position Duties:
· Shearing, fabricating, bending, and laying out of stainless-steel sheet parts.
· Convert blueprints into shop drawings to be followed in the construction or assembly of Sheet Metal products
· Determine project requirements, such as scope, assembly sequences, or required methods or materials, using blueprints, drawings, or written or verbal instructions
· Review blueprints or specifications to determine work requirements
· Lay out, measure, and mark dimensions and reference lines on material such as roofing panels, using calculators, scribes, dividers, squares, or rulers
· Measure materials or objects for installation or assembly
· Mark reference points on construction materials
· Fasten seams or joints together with bolts, rivets, caulks, metal drive clips, or bonds to assemble components into products or to repair Sheet Metal items
· Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, or smooth surfaces, seams, or joints of assembled parts, using hand tools or portable power tools and smooth surfaces with abrasive materials or tools
· Select gauges or types of Sheet Metal or nonmetallic material, according to product specifications
· Inspect individual parts, assemblies, or installations, using measuring instruments, such as calipers, scales, or micrometers
