Job Description – Metal Fabricator
We are looking for a SkilledSheetMetal Fabricator/ Welder to form, cut and join metals and other materials at our facility in Hooksett, NH. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts.
The candidate must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment and follow all safety precautions. The candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.
Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder - Responsibilities
- Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and fabrication procedures.
- Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
- Lay out positions, align and fit together the fabricated parts of light structural metal.
- Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.
- Operate cutting and heating torches.
- Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions (vertical, horizontal or overhead)
- Produce a finished product that meets recognized standards and customer expectations.
- Installation when needed at customer site.
- Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws.
- Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
Sheet Metal Fabricator / Welder - Qualifications and SkillsHigh school diploma or GED
- Proven experience as a welder and metal fabricator
- Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
- Experience in using electrical and manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
- Critical thinker.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.
- Ability to work as a team or independently.
