Sheet Metal Stamping And Fabrication Line Operator

Q-Lab is currently seeking a Sheet MetalStamping and Fabrication Line Operator. Reporting to the Panel Production Supervisor, this position will be responsible for production and packaging of our standard and custom Sheet Metal paint test panels. The position requires a high attention to quality details and the use of industrial fabrication machinery.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Continuous and consistent inspection of Sheet Metal part quality
• Precisely count Sheet Metal parts before packaging
• Ability to cross train and work any of the numerous areas within the department
• Detect and report unusual or defective materials to the supervisor
• Ability to learn and operate machinery

o Surface Grinder

o 20ton and 35ton OBI punch press

o Mechanical Sheet Metal shear

o Sheet metal press brake

o Sheet metal slip rollers

o Sand blaster

• Follow Lean Manufacturing 5S practices
• Operate a forklift to carry raw materials or completed product
• Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Qualifications for this role:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Basic math skills
• Understanding of how to work from blueprints and written specifications
• Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks
• Working knowledge of basic computer software
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand for 90% of work day if needed
• Willingness to work overtime and weekends as necessary
• Ability to work in loud conditions that require hearing protection
