Bazooka is seeking a Shared Services Associate to join our finance team on a full-time basis. This person will report directly to Dir. of Shared Services to assist in all invoicing, collections and payment initiatives for the organization.
With iconic brands including Ring Pop®, Push Pop®, Bazooka® Bubblegum, & Juicy Drop®, BCB is one of the leading manufacturers & innovators of non-chocolate confections in the US.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounts Receivable
- Maintain accounts receivable customer files, including set-up of new customers
- Responsible for issuance of customer invoices
- Maintain and provide reporting on outstanding Accounts Receivables balances as required
- Verify validity of account discrepancies (such as short pays, deductions, promotions, etc.) by obtaining and investigating information from sales, customer service departments, brokers, customers and other 3rd party companies
- Manage cash application making sure all cash receipts are applied properly and on timely basis
- Compile information as needed to assist with monthly and annual financial reporting obligations
- Assist with the monthly and yearly close process
Accounts Payable
- Review and verify invoices for accuracy.
- Process invoices for payment in a timely manner.
- Respond to vendor inquiries and resolve any discrepancies in billing and payments.
- Scan all invoices and support information into the accounting software
- Create and maintain a monthly list of recurring vendor accounts that must be paid and ensure all invoices are received and entered each month
Other Related Responsibilities
- Assist in reconciling accounts on a timely basis
- Responding to inquiries from vendors and customers
- Support automation projects to improve productivity, accuracy and efficiency
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be proficient in Excel and other Microsoft office applications
- Experience with Oracle ERP preferred
- Creative problem solver with outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills
- High integrity, independent and individually motivated
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting
- 2 years+ of experience performing Accounts Receivable responsibilities at public or private organizations
JOB DEMANDS:
- Must be able to sit and use a computer keyboard for extended periods of time
- Happy and willing to travel as necessary
- Must willing to work from office 3 days a week (Tues through Thurs)
- Must have flexibility and willingness to participate in the work processes of a global organization, including conference calls scheduled to accommodate time zones.
