Job description

Position Purpose:
This position is responsible for executing the vision of the Next Generation Ministry and assisting in coordinating and administrative work for the student ministry. The SGY Coordinator's purpose encompasses administrative duties, along with planning/coordinating events, and leading our SGY operations/support team during Sunday night programming.
This position shall be subject to the supervision of the SGY (Stonegate Youth) Minister. It is understood that this job description is designed to give a general overview of the duties of this position. While the primary and general focus should remain fairly consistent, it is also understood that the specific duties and responsibilities are subject to change.
Ultimately, the purpose of this position is to assist in the effectuation of the mission of Stonegate Fellowship as it relates to the administration of the Church. The SGY Coordinator will ensure that ministry to the Next Generation is marked by excellence, fosters connection inside and outside of the church, provides avenues for intentional growth, and leads students and their families to live out lives of influence in the community.
All duties of this position shall ultimately be focused on assisting Stonegate Fellowship in its quest to help students experience the transformation of Jesus.
Role Basics | Responsibilities and Expectations:
Administrative duties include, but are not limited to:
o Taking notes during team meetings. Action items distributed to team members
o Managing SGY calendar on planning center
o Data entry/roster management for small groups
o Coordinating with other ministries for events as needed
o Monitoring the budget and managing receipts each month

  • Lead all Support teams on Sunday nights during SGY programming. Teams include:

o Check-in
o Greeters
o Safety
o Food
  • Maintain the process for first-time guest procedure: introduce them to a small group, create a plan for follow-up and retention.
  • Recruit leaders and implement Leadership Pipeline principles for each support team role.
  • Handle the "in-between" duties for the SGY ministry in a professional and timely manner. This may include: ordering and picking up food or supplies, organization of forms and registrations for Sunday night programming and events, and communication of vital information to parents and Servant-Leaders.
  • Point of contact for local school system, in line with the Next Generation ministry strategy and vision, to engage Servant-Leaders and parents in ministry outside of weekly activities.
  • Maintain consistent communication with the Next Generation Team by attending all necessary staff meetings and being a team player in ministry-specific or church-wide events.
  • If time allows lead a D-Group and intentionally invest in 3 SGY students or SGY leaders

Minimum Work and Education:
  • B.S. or B.A. from an accredited university
  • 3-5 years of relevant work/volunteer experience in either a large church's Student Ministry, or other like-minded organization.

Competencies and Skills:
  • Superior organizational skills
  • 3 years(+) experience in administrative position.
  • Ability to be flexible and adapt as needed.
  • Good problem solver; analytical thinker
  • Flexible hours to include weekends and evenings
  • Self-motivated, driven and able to prioritize.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Time Requirement:
  • The expected time spent per week will total 29 hours or less. This is a Part-Time position.
  • Office hours are 8:30a.m. to 4:30p.m. Sunday-Thursday. This can be flexible depending on events or special programming.
  • The SGY Coordinator will be subject to the personnel policies of Stonegate Fellowship Church.
