Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to customers
- Take customer orders and provide recommendations based on their preferences
- Maintain a clean and organized bar area
- Check identification of customers to verify age requirements for purchase of alcohol
- Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations
- Handle cash transactions and operate cash register or POS system
- Engage with customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Upsell food and beverage items to increase sales
- Monitor customer behavior and intervene as necessary to prevent overconsumption or underage drinking
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate delivery of food orders
Skills:
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and calculating drink prices
- Knowledge of food handling procedures to maintain cleanliness and prevent contamination
- Experience in banquet bartending, including setting up bars for events, preparing specialty cocktails, and serving large groups of guests
- Strong sales skills to upsell menu items and promote specials or promotions
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple drink orders simultaneously and ensure prompt service
- Familiarity with the food industry, including knowledge of different types of alcohol, beer brewing processes, and cocktail recipes
- Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems for order entry and payment processing
