The Set-Up Technician supports the production needs of the operation by setting up, adjusting, and troubleshooting Injection Molding Machines and auxiliary equipment.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Set-up, start-up, troubleshoot and process a variety of injection molding and support equipment
- Set-up and start-up automation equipment such as robots and indexing conveyors
- Document processes and qualify start-ups using approved QC specifications before releasing to production
- Make professional and lasting modifications and repairs to existing equipment
- Record processing and tooling revisions per company standards
- Work with QC and Engineering to establish or modify work Instructions
- Must be able to effectively train and mentor operators and Set-up personnel
- Relay pertinent product and quality-related information to Operators, Inspectors, Supervisors, and peers, in both written and verbal forms. Maintain Shift Log and Inspection sheets.
- Establish methods for organizing and maintaining the order and cleanliness of equipment, storage areas and the department as a whole
- Other duties and projects as determined by production and business needs
Education, Skills, and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Certification(s) demonstrating applicable skills preferred
- Experience in Multi-Shot molding and RJG preferred
- Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills
- Attend appropriate on-site & off-site training and utilize newly acquired skills
- Must demonstrate understanding and working knowledge of equipment used to support production and specify any additional equipment to improve efficiency
- Established ability to identify and communicate issues and offer proposed solutions
- Great attention to detail is required
- Ability to manage interruptions in a professional and respectful manner is essential
- Above basic math skills and reasoning ability
- Adequate computer and Microsoft Office skills
