Set-Up / Process Technician
Mebane, NC
Onsite, Permanent, Direct
3rd Shift, $25-28/hr
Responsibilities:
  • Performs all Set-Up Tech I responsibilities including mold preparation, mold removal,
  • mold installation, and robot and secondary equipment set-up.
  • Demonstrate ability to perform efficient startup of Extruder and Thermoformer machines as required by daily schedules.
  • Demonstrated ability for maintaining maximum utilization/up time on machinery in assigned area including Extruder machine and thermoform machines.
  • Ensures all safety standards are maintained including shop organization and housekeeping.
  • Eliminates safety hazards that he/she is able to correct and reports all other safety hazards.
  • Ensures that molds in assigned area are producing proper quality parts.
  • Performs all required quality checks and procedures in a consistent and timely manner.
  • Ensures that machines are up and running, meeting or exceeding cycle efficiency standards.
  • Utilizes and updates cycle run data on a regular daily basis and troubleshoots processing
  • problems as they arise and then documents the changes and results.
  • Organizes workflow and coordinates color/material changeovers to minimize downtime in
  • assigned area. Contributes daily efforts to maintain clean work areas, including machinery.
  • Performs minor type maintenance as required, (replaces leaky water hoses, fills
  • chillers, makes nozzle/heater band changes, performs minor EOA repairs, replace auxiliary
  • equipment (gamma flux, chillers, thermolators, conveyors,) etc.)
  • Completes production data/cycle sheets, completes Q.C. first article and product inspection reports, writes mold repair orders, maintenance repair requests, and runs history logs.
  • Interacts with other Tech team members and also supports department personnel to optimize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Maintain reliable and consistent attendance, including being punctual, and dependable in order to meet the needs of the department and the organization.
  • Execute each essential duty satisfactorily in order to perform job successfully.
  • Follows all safety procedures required in work area, wears PPE as needed, attends all safety meetings, and reports safety issues regarding equipment or unsafe/hazardous conditions.
  • Performs effectively as a team member, able to work well with others, open to receive and give feedback, and treats everyone with respect.
  • Takes ownership of own work and behavior, accepts accountability for own actions, encourages solutions, and communicates status of work/projects.
  • Follow all department quality standards/criteria. Raise concerns and issues to immediate manager.
  • Able to understand and demonstrate company culture, display company core values (Safety, Quality, Respect, and Service).
  • Understands department’s key performance indicators and contributes to achieve these goals both individually and as a team.
  • Other duties as needed or required.
  • Must be able to work overtime as needed, remain flexible and open to possible schedule changes in order to meet business needs.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two to three years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Must have knowledge and ability to perform all aspects of the material handler and set-up tech positions.
  • Associates degree and five or more years related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
