Where is this opportunity located?
Position has the flexibility to work from a U.S. based home. Candidates must be enrolled as a student and registered for at least 12 credits. Ideal candidate should be available to work approximately 15-20 hours per week during the academic year and 20-40 hours per week during the summer.
What will work look like for me?
Daktronics is seeking a talented and motivated Marketing student to join our Services Team. This student position offers and exciting opportuning to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and fast-paced environment while supporting our effort to promote Daktronics products and services.
Our Marketing student position will provide you with extensive learning opportunities, enhancing your potential. We'll do our best to prepare you for full-time employment and enable you to have your foot in the door to apply for our full-time positions upon graduation.
Marketing students will gain experience:
- Working within Daktronics brand guidelines.
- Collaborating with the Professional Services Team to assist with development and execution of marketing campaigns and strategies.
- Assisting with creating compelling content for various marketing channels including social media, email campaigns, blog post and website updates.
- Designing engaging social media postings, including graphics, images, and videos to showcase Daktronics products and services across platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, and TikTok.
- Conducting market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive insights in the industry.
- Supporting the creation of marketing materials such as brochures, presentations, and case studies to showcase Daktronics solutions and success stories.
- Working closely with cross-functional teams including sales, product management, and creative services to ensure alignment and consistency across messaging and branding.
- Editing photos for website.
- Working within a Digital Asset Management system (Widen).
- Managing small projects.
- Prioritizing work.
- Problem Solving.
Pay and Perks:
- The typical hiring pay for this position is $13.50/hour to $14.25/hour. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including relevant education, experience, geographic location, and applicable local legislation.
- Students with GPA of 3.5 and above are eligible for a $500 bonus (Academic Excellence Reward) each semester completed while employed.

Academic Requirements:
- The preferred applicant will be a student registered in at least 12 credits and currently enrolled in accredited Bachelor's degree program in Marketing, Communications, Social Media Marketing, Graphic Design, or other related programs.
- The preferred candidate will be in their sophomore or junior year of school.
- Only strong academic performers in undergraduate coursework will be considered.
- Must maintain an acceptable GPA.
- Unofficial transcripts or web transcripts must be submitted with application to be considered for this position.
Other Requirements:
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Self-motivation.
- Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
- Basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and slide deck programs as well as project management methodologies.
- Experience with social media posts, GIFs, Tutorial creation, preferred.
- Microsoft office experience preferred.
- Willingness to learn.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
