OTTO WERKS, the newest division of OTTO Gruppe (OTTO Car Club), was born out of the necessity to expand our offerings within the automotive service industry. OTTO WERKS not only services, but restores, supports and manages a wide range of specialty projects including historic and modern racing vehicles. The ideal candidate will have a passion for vintage cars and motorsport vehicles, with the expertise to manage projects ranging from Modern Porsche GT3/GT4 race cars, to restorations including a variety from a 1965 Shelby GT350 to a BMW E36 M3, and more. Unique automotive facility that specializes in German, British and Italian vehicles. Our team’s range includes anything from basic maintenance services to full engine rebuilds.
Position Overview: As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing various aspects of our auto service center. Your primary responsibilities will include managing invoices, quality control, shop and technician schedules, HR paperwork, liaison with the parts department, and maintaining shop cleanliness. Your extensive knowledge of cars, especially vintage, classic, race, performance, and luxury vehicles, will be crucial in ensuring the highest level of service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead project management: Oversee the restoration and modification processes, ensuring projects meet OTTO WERKS' high standards of quality and precision. Efforts for specialty car restorations and motorsport service, support and modifications.
Project documentation: Document project progress through comprehensive photography and record-keeping.
Client communication: Maintain frequent and detailed line of communication with clients to ensure quality, satisfaction and keep the clients up-to date in realtime.
Invoice Management: Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices for services rendered. Collect payments from clients before releasing vehicles. Execute weekly billing processes to maintain cash flow and provide clients with regular financial updates especially on long-term orders and restorations.
Quality Control (QC): Perform thorough quality checks on vehicles before releasing them to clients to ensure no issues post-service. Address any quality concerns and coordinate with technicians for necessary adjustments.
Shop and Technician Scheduling: Efficiently manage the shop floor and technician schedules to maximize productivity. Assign tasks and responsibilities to technicians as needed.
Opening and Closing: Open the shop at the start of the day and ensure all necessary preparations are made. Close the shop at the end of the day, ensuring security protocols are followed.
HR Administration: Oversee HR paperwork, including payroll, employee records, and compliance with labor laws. Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new technicians as needed.
Liaison with Parts Department: Act as a bridge between the auto shop and the parts department to ensure the availability of necessary parts and accessories. Communicate parts requirements and maintain accurate inventory records.
Shop Maintenance and Cleanliness: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the auto shop to uphold the highest standards. Ensure that all safety and environmental regulations are adhered to.
Vehicle Knowledge: Possess in-depth knowledge of various types of vehicles, including vintage, classic, race, performance, and luxury cars. Stay updated on the latest automotive trends and technologies.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in auto shop management, automotive restoration and motorsport industries.
- Strong passion for and knowledge of vintage cars, particularly Porsche, and motorsport vehicles.
- Strong organizational and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with clients and team members.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to quality control.
- Proficient in administrative tasks, including HR paperwork and invoicing.
- Knowledge of automotive parts and a network of industry contacts is a plus.
- Proficiency in documentation and photography for project tracking and client updates.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
