Shop Technician

$16-$20/hr. DOE *Traveling job! Lodging and gas are provided + $50 daily per diem for food allowance on overnight trips.

A provider of cost-effective and environmentally friendly technology in the Sheldon Iowa area is looking for a Shop Technician to join their growing team! The Shop Technician will efficiently assemble/repair generating equipment by possessing good mechanical aptitude and skills. Able to follow assembly directions including plumbing and electrical drawings, with the ability to troubleshoot and repair.

 Responsibilities:

• Reading and understanding wiring, plumbing, and assembly drawings. Attend and participate in project review meetings. Communicate with team members of any changes or discrepancies in drawings or assembly instructions. Assembly of oxygen systems.
• Comply with company safety policies.
• Plumbing and wiring diagrams, and fabrication.
• Troubleshooting within project and Research and Development department.

Requirements:

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
• Able to stand for several hours on concrete.
• Ability to lift, pull, bend, climb, kneel, stoop, or otherwise work in an awkward angle, or repetitive motion.
• Be able to perform basic math, reading, and using a tape measure. Experience in manufacturing, assembly, or electrical industry preferred. Self-starter with a positive attitude. Ability to work well in a team or individual environment.
