TrueNorth is looking for a Service Intern to join our Employee Benefits Division. The Employee BenefitsService Intern will be focused in a project management capacity to support the needs of the Employee Benefits team and gain an understanding around the insurance industry.
Our internship program is a 10-week paid program, running May – August 2024. This position will be working out of our Cedar Rapids, IA office.

As a Service Intern in our Employee Benefits Division, You Will:
- Collaborate with our sales and service teams to interact with clients, understand their needs, and contribute to providing tailored insurance solutions
- Gain hands-on experience in managing policies, endorsements, renewals, and assisting in claims processing
- Prepare reports and presentations to communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to internal stakeholders around data pulled from our systems
- Contribute to market analysis and research projects, providing valuable insights for informed decision-making
- Provide support to ongoing projects around data management and quality
- Assist in the creation of Powerpoint presentations and other deliverables around quotes and 4th Quarter Enrollment
- Aid in the preparation of all-division meetings and trainings
- Assist in maintaining accurate client records, policy documentation, and other critical data
- Contribute to the improvement and documentation of workflows and processes for our technology systems
- Actively engage in workshops and training sessions to enhance your skills and industry knowledge
Education, Experience, & Skills:
- Must be of Junior or Senior status
- Pursuing education in business, risk management, or finance course preferred, but not required.
- Strong organizational skills, adept at prioritizing and handling multiple tasks
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills, both written and verbal
- Extremely accurate with strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically, Excel
- Ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in the insurance industry
- Independent and self-motivated, capable of autonomous work
- Must be comfortable with technology, including Zoom and Outlook
