Duties:
- Greet and seat guests in a friendly and professional manner
- Provide menus to guests and answer any questions about the menu items
- Take food and drink orders accurately and efficiently
- Enter orders into the POS system and ensure accuracy
- Serve food and beverages to guests in a timely manner
- Check on guests throughout their dining experience to ensure satisfaction
- Clear tables and reset them for the next guests
- Handle cash transactions and process payments accurately
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth service
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the food industry is preferred
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and positive attitude
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling procedures
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with guests and team members
- Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 25 pounds
Skills:
- Coffee knowledge: Familiarity with different coffee types, brewing methods, and espresso machines.
- Helpfulness: Willingness to assist guests with any requests or concerns.
- Math skills: Ability to calculate bills, make change, and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Food industry experience: Understanding of restaurant operations, including order taking, serving, and table clearing.
- Sales skills: Ability to upsell menu items and promote specials or add-ons.
- Food safety knowledge: Understanding of proper food handling, storage, and sanitation practices.
- Food preparation: Basic understanding of food preparation techniques, such as slicing, chopping, or assembling dishes.
- Cash handling: Experience handling cash transactions, including counting money, giving change, and reconciling cash drawer.
- Retail math: Proficiency in basic math calculations used in the restaurant industry.
