The Server Assistant is responsible for food service of all tables and seating areas in a high-volume restaurant, bar or lounge. The Server Assistant assists the kitchen and Servers with food service, proper set-up and maintenance of functioning spaces, as well as serving guests and keeping the side stations clean and well stocked. The Server Assistant will assist management with the training/mentoring of new employees as requested and works in an efficient and professional manner while maintaining a positive attitude and delivering superior guest service at all times.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· This position will cross train as a Barback, Food runner, and Polisher
Provide a friendly, inviting and personal environment for guests
· Provide professional guest service
· Greet all guests promptly, with a friendly and upbeat attitude
· Anticipate guest needs and respond to guest inquiries and requests in a courteous and polite manner
· Adhere to all standard operating procedures and sequence of service standards
· Maintain line of sight/atmosphere control by circulating through your work area throughout shift
· Respond to guest concerns/complaints and correct errors or resolve complaints with a positive attitude
· Ability to communicate in English with guests and co-workers
· Keep table tops, floors and service areas clean/free of dirty glasses, dirty ashtrays, trash and any unnecessary items throughout shift
· Keep service station and service equipment storage clean and organized
· Ensure daily/nightly/weekly and opening/running/closing duties are completed
· Maintain opening and closing service equipment par
· Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a Manager immediately
· Ensure that all tables and chairs are set correctly and clean
· Maintain the company safety and sanitation standards
· Clean all spills and waste immediately
· Sweep and mop as needed
· Polish and wash glassware throughout shift
· Place all trash in proper receptacles
· Receives food and ensures proper presentation
· Organize and prioritize service per appropriate service sequence
· Check food orders prior to serving to ensure that they are correct, properly presented and that special requests have been met
· Garnish any and all plates/orders as needed per company standards and recipes
· Prompt and accurate delivery of all food orders to appropriate tables and sections
· Responsible for making sure your area is always prepped accordingly with supplies and that it is kept clean to run as efficiently as possible
· Ensure tables are set correctly and maintained to a high level of presentation
· Clear tables of debris and any spillage throughout the shift
· Wipe down stainless steel on the ice machine/s and equipment, including coolers
· Empty garbage cans from the floor and dispose of it correctly with all boxes broken down
· Ensure all back of house storage and refrigeration areas are kept clean and secure
· Assist with loading/unloading of miscellaneous equipment, such as boxes, food and beverage product
· Inform management of any complaint, comments or incident
· Adhere to all specified marketing requirements and guidelines (guest list, reservations, social media, etc)
· Record and report any equipment failure and/or safety hazards to a Manager immediately
· Clean all spills and waste immediately, sweep and mop as needed
· Proper set up and maintenance of banquet function spaces
· Assist all other team members as needed
· Performs other job related duties as assigned
Requirements
· Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
· 18+ years of age
· Must have current and/or previous hospitality or fine dining experience
· Work as a team, stay organized, multi-task, and prioritize
· Ability to communicate with employees and guests efficiently and assertively
· Consistently maintain a well groomed appearance, posture and hygiene
· Move effectively and efficiently throughout the venue floor and bar areas
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $22.00 per hour
