Sensory Motor and Academic Youth Mentor
Do you want to make a difference in children's lives? Brain Balance Achievement Center of Kansas City is seeking enthusiastic and energetic individuals to fill part-time coaching positions. Our after school program works with children ages 4 to 17 struggling socially, behaviorally, academically, or developmentally by addressing the cause. This position requires a motivated individual to work together with other team coaches, in a fast-paced atmosphere, assisting children in our Sensory Motor and Academic Program rooms. Coaches must follow a strict and specific protocol while motivating children who may have such disabilities as ADHD, Asperger's, dyslexia, high functioning autism, and behavioral issues. Coaches will be very active on their feet and on the ground helping kids with various physical activities.
Applicants must be available M-W-F 3:00-8:00 PM.
Applicants MUST be:
- Enthusiastic and energetic
- Extremely patient, positive, and loving
- Experienced working with children
We prefer a college degree in a related field or working towards a degree in a related field
- Availability M-W-F 3:00-8:00 PM required, additional availability a plus.
- Year round availability
Applicants will be given preference who have: Experience working with struggling or special needs children A background in exercise science, physical training, physical or occupational therapy, behavioral interventions, psychology, or education.
