Job description

Summary:
Senior Interior Designer with primary responsibility to present to customers and co-sell with the sales team. Large, significant projects will be assigned to our Workplace Applications Team for support and consultation with direct involvement in sales strategy, sales calls, and all customer presentations. SWAC will have very strong presentation skills, CET skills, product knowledge, project qualifications skills, pricing skills and artful when working on bids that are assigned. They must feel comfortable presenting to C-Suite levels at assigned customers with the goal to help our sales team close business as won before it is bid. If projects go to bid, the SWAC will lead the design work for the bid to win. The SWAC will be externally focused on the A&D community in our area with the goal to earn the firms respect and become a go-to dealer resources for the designers at the firm.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
  • Ability to deliver knowledge-based expertise and consulting that adds value and separates Storr Office as a market leader and solution provider.
  • Required time management/prioritization skills and the ability to handle stress in a proactive manner.
  • Need to be "results-oriented" (i.e., win rate of 75%)
  • Initiate personal development to strengthen expertise on products, issues, research, initiatives, LEED, etc.
  • Be a self-starter with a high level of responsiveness and flexibility.
  • Desire to work on a team as a motivated member.
  • Have strong sales skills and be a dynamic presenter.
  • Grow A&D relationship in the community, willing to attend network events in the market.

SALES EXPERIENCE:
  • Good probing skills necessary to facilitate the discovery process.
  • Able to uncover customer needs and lead application development, not just "follow directions."
  • Enjoys client interaction and can engage in a "sales" discussion
  • Ability to cultivate strong relationships with clients
  • Comfortable making presentations and demonstrating solutions to prospective customers.
  • Comfortable with budget discussions estimates, contracts, margins
  • Able to manage to a "sales" goal

DESIGN EXPERIENCE:
  • 5 years of Industry knowledge in Commercial Furniture or A&D
  • Good working knowledge of products offered by Storr Office and awareness of competitive product offerings. Ability to research competition to apply our applications strategically.
  • Ability to run budgets and value engineer when needed.
  • Strong tech skills in Excel, PowerPoint, CAD, or CET preferred
  • Be a liaison between the sales and design to oversee the transition of account from pre-sell to implementation.
  • Involvement strategy sessions

Education and/or Experience:
  • BA/BS, in Interior Designer or Architecture
  • Technical skills included CAD/CET and excellent interpersonal, communication and coaching skills.
