About this Opportunity
Ball State University's Unified Communications team is looking for a dynamic, goal-oriented member to provide data and voice connectivity to the University's campus. This position will involve monitoring, maintaining, and evolving the campus data and voice network to meet the ever-growing needs of the campus community. If you have experience working on large and complex networks, sophisticated IP Phone systems, or think your information technology skills may be transferable, please apply.

Position Function
Install and maintain a data and voice network architecture to service the campus community and maintain appropriate service levels. Provide integration of communication technologies; provide ongoing monitoring, analysis, and support of the unified communication architecture; provide daily oversight of the campus communication system and related functions.
Minimum Education
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution; OR Associate's Degree plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to 2 years.; OR High School diploma plus an additional combination of education or experience in IT equivalent to 4 years.
Minimum Experience
Seven years of technical experience in data networking, VoIP, or video-conferencing; ability to write proposals, act as a vendor liaison, make presentations to professional peers, and work closely
with IT management.
Minimum Other
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, telecommunications, or closely related field.
Preferred Experience
More than ten years of experience in data networking, VoIP, or video-conferencing; experience within computer facilities in a large organization or university setting. Positive consideration will be given to relevant certifications (CCNA, CCNP, CWNA) and/or specialized training.
Preferred Other
Relevant certifications and/or specialized communication technology
training.

Install, maintain, and provide leadership in the management of the primary Unified Communications solutions in use across the university. Including the IP PBX, voicemail solution, contact center environment, emergency alerting software, and web-conferencing environment.
