Summary and Role Purpose
The Senior Video Editor is responsible for helping the broader Creative Team to build and reinforce the Ansys brand through broadcast, web, and digital video production. Collaborating with creative directors, producers, campaign managers, designers, social media, and marketing leadership, this role will deliver video content that inspires and engages our target audience. The Senior Editor will also contribute to the planning, design, and creation of relevant serial content and video content strategies that grow audience, develop digital brand personality, optimize the quality of video content produced, and contribute to Ansys' overarching business objectives.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
  • Consistently transform raw clips and footage into high-quality, polished video content to inform, engage, and inspire the target audience
  • Drive editorial of video content for brand campaigns, product releases, customer stories, trade shows, and internal and external events
  • Work as part of a broader creative team to conceptualize and produce appealing and effective market-focused communications
  • Create and guide external creation of video content that is consistent in quality, style, voice, and above all, adheres to Ansys brand standards
  • Skillfully translate engineering jargon into inspiring, engaging, and relatable motion picture experiences
  • Contribute to the development of a brand strategy, personality, and style for external facing video content platforms, such as YouTube and LinkedIn, and consistently deliver relevant and engaging serial content
  • Provide support and guidance for other in-house and self-serve video content creators, to ensure valuable technical content is delivered in the best possible ways
  • Take ownership of creative work in presenting video content to internal stakeholders and by proactively addressing revisions and reviews
  • Innovate - continually investigate new methods, tools, and technologies to improve video production processes
  • Film live action or interview/talking head content on location to support the initiatives of the broader team
  • Support executive leadership team with the creation of premium, rich video experiences to enhance the Ansys leadership presence at public engagements, speeches, keynotes, and trade shows
  • Play an active role on the Creative Team by participating in strategic initiatives and educating others on best practices around video creation and video content development

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements and Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in Film, Marketing, Communications, or a related field
  • 7+ years' experience in film and video production, with demonstrated success in both filming and post-production phases
  • A balance of B2B, B2C, and Entertainment video content experience, with a strong portfolio of past examples
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects and deliver successful outcomes
  • Expert-level proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud products, particularly Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects
  • Deep knowledge of color grading processes, specifically with DaVinci Resolve software

Preferred Qualifications and Skills
  • Experience with engineering, science, or technology content production
  • Novice-level skill in graphic FX and animation with experience working in industry standard 3D animation software tools, such as Cinema 4D and Blender
  • Experience working as part of a global team, working across many time zones
  • Mastery of Microsoft Office suite of products
  • Familiarity with Blackmagic and ARRI camera systems and processes for managing RAW footage (ARRI RAW, BRAW)
  • Demonstrated experience with technology-based solutions for video production, such as Descript and ChatGPT
