Mower is a fiercely independent full-service advertising, marketing and public relations firm with more than 12 locations across the United States. We are looking to add a new member of Mower’s senior leadership team in the role of Senior Vice President- Strategy. This individual will be responsible for guiding agency and client strategy. Objectives will require leading and mentoring Strategy team members, helping them to flourish and grow along their career paths, including research, account planning, strategic planning and analytics. Contributing to new business, agency initiatives, specialty teams, various task forces and client accounts, balancing concurrent demands with ease will also be essential for this role.

- Provide leadership and mentorship to team of researchers, account planners, strategic planners, marketing technologists, data analysts and integrated reporting specialists
- Contribute to agency specialties and agency strategy to ensure profitable growth
- Ensure integration and collaboration across teams
- Participate in agency new business initiatives, representing the Strategy team, sizing (cost) and timing for work to meet a prospect’s requests
- Guide development of integrated solutions based on deep understanding of the customer, client, brand and marketplace
- Understand, develop and apply consolidated metrics and evaluation plans, KPIs and recommendations to continually optimize strategy and tactics
- Guide the agency’s data and analytics strategies, and optimal use of technology platforms (e.g., Datorama)
- Investigate, document, and analyze clients’ sales, marketing, and customer relationship priorities, processes, systems, and analytics to gain a full understanding of the situation and to inform strategy
- Conduct market, channel and competition analyses
- Work alongside client and internal teams as well as other client partner resources as necessary to guide and ensure complete implementation of marketing programs
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with client partners and third-party providers as required
- Develop target market analyses, personas, customer journeys, insights and positioning statements and key messaging recommendations
- Develop team briefs and lead internal agency briefings to client account and agency business development teams
- Maintain a robust understanding of overarching business principles.
- Monitor and interpret cultural, economic, and social trends relevant to the client’s (or prospect’s) business and share learnings with Insight team and wider agency
- Must be curious, self-starter, voracious reader ready to get into the details of a client’s industry, business trends and evolution in advertising. Must be experienced in all aspects of strategy.
Educational Requirements & Qualifications –
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred
- Minimum 15 years of experience required
- Experience in an insight, strategy or analytics role at an agency, or as a senior marketing leader for a corporation
- Must be able to understand diverse audiences and communicate complex ideas through written/visual materials.
- Ability to quickly and accurately synthesize data from numerous, disparate sources, make connections, and probe for more information in real-time
- Ability to develop integrated marketing plans, white papers, brand positioning, value propositions, and POVs
- Ability to define problems, collect information, establish facts and draw valid conclusions based upon information furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Presentation prowess – Must develop and deliver great presentations that engage and captivate an audience; experience presenting to C-level audiences both in person and over the phone.

Salary Range: $157,000 - $250,000 annually
- Salary differential is based on seniority, merit, education, training and experience.
