Eaton's Industrial Control Division is currently seeking a Senior Variable Frequency Drives Technician to work at our Product Integrity Center (PIC) in Menomonee Falls, WI.
The expected annual salary range for this role is $58,500 - $85,000 a year. This role offers paid overtime!

What you'll do:
As a Senior Variable Frequency Drive Technician, you will provide quality support for customers through product evaluation, testing, investigations, and communications. You will work closely with the factories, design teams, and other functional areas to drive continuous improvement.
In this role, you will:
• Conduct technical evaluations, quotes, and repairs of warranty returns as needed
• Set up, program, operate and troubleshoot all ICD products (Drives, Starters, Contactors, PLC's, Overloads, Etc.) using a variety of processes and test equipment
• Lead and/or participate in problem solving teams, including the application of CQM and HQCSE Understanding of quality systems tools and techniques such as Six Sigma, Lean, 8-D, DMR, PFMEA, PPAP/FAI, VA-VE, ISO and QS quality systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, EQS.
• Write and communicate evaluation reports, write test plans, troubleshooting methods to help resolve high profile quality issue.
• Set up complex test schemes, develop the test plan and perform testing on all ICD product in all labs (EMC, Shock and Vibe, Halt, Dyne, and high-level electrical lab equipment) when needed to determine root cause of major quality issue.
• Drive problem solving and root cause analysis activities to eliminate recurrence of non-conformances. Train, lead and facilitate cross-functional improvement and problem-solving teams.
• Travel to domestic and international Eaton sites and customers as required. Ability to lead troubleshooting activities, communicating and discussions/ meetings to help resolve the issues with a cross-functional team and customers on site.
• Maintain elements of department SharePoint and Teams sites (work instructions, critical files etc.)
• When needed, provide customer service, and administrative support (including quality holds, new claims, claim authorization, repairs, invoices, credits, orders, metrics, DMRs, Power BI database queries etc.)
• Utilize customers' online quality portals to post evaluation results as needed.
• Facilitate proactive ongoing continuous improvement in support of quality, productivity, and growth objectives
• Support DMRs and work with suppliers on direct source nonconformances.
• Train and mentor new employees on technical and process related issues
• Provide same day responses to internal and external customers with emergency requests
Qualifications:
Basics Qualifications:
- High School diploma/GED or higher with at least two years of experience with power distribution products or a Two-year degree in a Technical field
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Valid and Unrestricted Driver's License
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years of relevant experience with power distribution products
- Experience with mechanical and electrical measurement tools, basic hand and power tools.
- Ability to read schematics and technical diagrams
- Working knowledge of FMEAs, pFMEAs, gauge R&R / MSA and control plans
Skills:
• Capability and experience with using all relevant test equipment in the Menomonee Falls labs.
• Ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, factories, and cross-functional teams.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Organized, self-motivated, and able to execute tasks with minimal supervision.
• Knowledge of Eaton Electrical organizational structure.
• Proficient in Vista (claims, financials, quality issue system, and order management).
• Proficient in EWCS, CQM, WISPER, Minitab, Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of inspection techniques, and processes.
• Application of quality tools (Six Sigma, lean, cost of quality, etc.)
• Knowledgeable in problem solving tools such as Six Sigma, 8D, Root cause analysis, and SPC.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds
