Job Summary:
The UX Researcher will work within the Operator Insights group to apply UX and human factors research methods to develop a deep understanding of the user mental model and work cycles, develop actionable insights, and develop or refine tools that will be share with designers, engineers, and UX Practitioners. This role goes beyond Digital UX and supports the user from a whole machine perspective.
Drive the strategic research process and collaborate closely with cross-functional counterparts to influence key strategy and decisions for physical aspects of designing for heavy equipment operators.
What You Will Do:
Design and conduct strategic UX research projects.
Identify gaps in current product design and approach and develop studies and/or tools that can be used to close those gaps.
Update shared resources with new insights, tools, and learning materials.
Support and participate in user research activities and forums internally and externally.
Connect with UX Researchers across the company to gather additional insights and tools and share best practices.
What You Will Have:
Creativity: Knowledge of the approaches, tools, and techniques for promoting creative, original thinking and ability to apply it to a variety of business situations.
Decision Making and Critical Thinking : Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
Heavy Machinery Industry: Knowledge of heavy machinery, automotive, or aerospace industry; ability to understand future products, technologies, issues, and trends and directions.
Human-Centered Design (HCD): Knowledge of Human-Centered Design model, principle, and concepts; ability to understand the perspective of people who experience a problem, their needs, and provide them with a solution which truly meets their needs effectively.
General UX Trends & Directions: Knowledge of design and research trends, testing and validation tools.
