Job Summary
The Senior UX Researcher will be a critical part of Sorenson’s User Experience team, working closely with the Director of UX. This role focuses on designing and conducting user research initiatives to gather actionable insights for our products. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in user research methodologies and a deep understanding of the unique challenges facing the Deaf and Hard-of-hearing communities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan, design, and conduct user research studies, including but not limited to usability tests, interviews, surveys, field studies, and customer journey mapping.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify research questions and hypotheses, and effectively communicate research findings.
- Advocate for the importance of UX research within the company, helping teams understand when and how to best utilize research insights.
- Assist in navigating FCC and PII constraints when reaching out to and engaging with customers.
- Mentor UX researchers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and improvement within the UX team.
- Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.
Travel Requirements
Travel Requirements: Less than 25%
Education
Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree In a research or design-related discipline with proven experience
Preferred: Graduate Degree In Human-Computer Interaction, Psychology, or a related field
Experience
3 years Prior experience in UX research, with at least 2 years focusing on accessibility or related areas
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills, with an ability to interpret complex data.
- Knowledge of FCC regulations and PII concerns relevant to user research.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects.
- High awareness of the needs of our customers and employees.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Remote work with the option for working in an office environment.
- Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
- Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
