The Job
  • Contribute to Unreal Engine development for the In-Game UI, focusing on end-to-end implementation
  • Design and develop the user interface architecture with C++, Unreal UMG, and middleware technologies in a way that will enable both game and UX/UI Designers through scalable tools and services using best in class code solutions.
  • Work with Game and content creators to construct tools that ensure both interface systems and gameplay are easy to iterate on, extend and maintain.
  • Champion UI performance, stability, and consistency throughout the development of the project and beyond.
  • Be an advocate for both players and developers in crafting a best-in-class game experience
  • Provide thought leadership on game interface solutions that push the boundaries of the technology and team alike.
  • Use your strong communication skills to collaborate across multi-disciplinary teams.

  • 5+ years working in games using game engines and building in-game UI solutions delivering in-game experiences. 
  • Shipped atleast 1 game on a platform other than mobile, through the full development cycle. 
  • Passionate about building tools, systems, and process to improve the way games are made.
  • Understand how critical the distance from concept to screen is and strive to reduce the length whenever possible
  • Driven by crafting quality in the customer experience and participating in not just the engineering discussions, but all discussions where your unique perspective can have an impact.
  • A drive to jump in with both hands to create unique solutions
  • An advanced understanding of C++, Blueprint, Unreal Engine, UMG, and industry middleware.
  • Great communication and problem-solving skills
  • Deep understanding of common user interface concepts like layout, text, event-driven programming, and control widgets.
  • Experience building programmatic motion and design systems to enable - 'build once and use anywhere' game development.
  • Experience working with localization/internationalization/culturalization, and accessibility systems and dealing with related issues.
  • Someone who is user-focused, passionate, scrappy, solutions-focused, and innovative. These are the key traits to being a part of the team.
  • Commitment to personal and peer development and sharing best practices.
  • The ideal candidate has considerable experience contributing to a large cutting-edge code base and extensive experience creating UI. The role requires prior experience developing UI for UE4.

Additional Information

The base salary range for this full-time position is $180K - 220K + stocks + tokens + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
