JOB TITLE: SENIOR UAV PILOT
DEPARTMENT: FLIGHT OPERATIONS
REPORTS TO: FLIGHT OPERATIONS MANAGER
CLASSIFICATION: EXEMPT
Job Summary:
Oversee the ground and flight operations of an Unmanned Aircraft System during stateside testing and overseas operations. Function as customer interface in operational environments.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform flight operation planning in support of customer-driven requirements.
- Perform pre-flight, in-flight, and post-flight safety checks.
- Remote pilot a UAS, following a specific flight plan or modifying flight plans to meet mission objectives.
- Assist flight operation planning and authority to operate in support of customer-driven requirements.
- Support flight operations outside the continental United States for up to four (4) months at a time
- Conduct flight demonstrations for customers at remote locations.
- Assist team with training curriculum, documentation, and standardization efforts.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues to maximize mission capable status.
- Ensure compliance with all FAA regulations as applicable.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- Ability to obtain a Security Clearance
- Completion of training or a degree in aviation, engineering, or a related field preferred
- Up to 75% CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required.
- Position is contingent on the ability to pass required flight and deployment physicals.
- Comfortable operating a UAS in various weather and light conditions.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate from the FAA
- Private Pilot License
- Expert knowledge and extensive experience with Piccolo flight controllers
- Experience in deployed UAS ISR operations.
