Senior Treasury Specialist & Team Leader

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION

Sr. Treasury Specialist & Team Leader is responsible for managing and overseeing MAI’s Treasury Team. Responsibilities include acting as Power of Attorney (POA) for MAI’s Full-Service Bill pay department, and as POA for our financial institutions. Responsible for managing a team that processes all outgoing money movement requests, and overseeing the Administrators of the client accounting system to ensure workflow and client functionality is set up properly. The person in this role works with Investment Management, Wealth Management, Compliance, Integrations, Operations, Fund Administration, Technology, and other departments.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage a team of Treasury Specialists.
• Main contact between the banks and MAI regarding banking issues, setting up new accounts, updates, and resolving disputes.
• Work with the Compliance department to maintain Client Treasury’s Policy and Procedures and update as needed.
• Represent the company in relationships with key parties such as clients, acquisitions, and vendors.
• Responsible for processing and monitoring all outgoing payments out of the Bill Pay teams accounting system.
• Lead for working with our non-bill pay Financial Custodians to resolve any money movement issues.
• Responsible for assisting in processing and monitoring non-bill MAIs clients’ money movement requests.
• Develop best practices for how to mitigate risk and error with our money movement custodians and the firm.
• Oversee and coordinate the team’s treasury email inbox to team members.
• Provide best practices to internal staff regarding Treasury activities.
• Act as primary contact on behalf of treasury team for all integration team and new acquisition inquiries.
• Work directly with Client Accounting team lead to assist in determining employee client caseloads.
• Responsible for directing and coordinating business operations between the treasury team and client accounting.
• Maintain analysis reports to examine trends within the department and firm.
• Lead for all Compliance audits regarding custody of client accounts.

EXPERIENCE/CREDENTIALS

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field.
• 7 – 10 years of experience in financial services industry, banking, or treasury.
• 3 – 5 years management experience.
• MBA / CTP is a plus.
• Proficient in using Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel.
• Familiar with accounting software – AgilLink preferred.
