Job Title: Senior Transmission Technology Developer
Offered Wage: $159,744/year
Location: This position is fully remote and reports to TRC Environmental Corporation's HQ in Windsor, CT; candidates may work from a home office anywhere in the United States.
Duties: Responsible for the optimization and performance improvements of new and existing code base, including the design and development of batch and near-real time data integration processes, business intelligence (BI) solutions, development within heterogeneous database environments, and navigation through complex systems configurations. Ensures accuracy and integrity of data and applications through analysis, coding, and writing clear documentation and problem resolution. Analyzes data structures content and ensures performance validity. Designs, codes, tests, and implements data integration solutions using modern techniques and programming languages. Designs, codes, tests, and implements BI solutions, including reports, dashboards, and notifications in support of business requirements. Provides high-level database development assistance to create specific applications for businesses. Participates in research and applies innovation at all levels of the software development process. Works as part of a cross-functional team, including IT and business resources. Functions as a technical lead and subject matter expert (SME) on assigned projects. Acts as the Principal Designer responsible for complex systems and their subsystems while employing a deep knowledge of current technology and existing systems. Responds to and resolves issues and system outages. Participates in production support activities and processes. Leads development standards reviews and renovation efforts.
Qualifications
Education & Experience Requirements:
Master's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus three (3) years of experience as a Senior Transmission Technology Developer (or related profession) working in a database development environment.
Or, alternatively:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Data Analytics or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) and five (5) years of experience as a Senior Transmission Technology Developer (or related profession) working in a database development environment.
Required Skills:
(4) DE managing databases and servers to maintain multiple services created by the Transmission Line Engineering (TLE) technology group and running instructions for Elasticsearch Service (former Plastic) to create users, elicit system information, and manage licenses; and,
(5) DE mentoring junior Developers leveraging traditional and Agile software development methodologies.
