Summary of Role:
GlobalFoundries Fab 8 is seeking experienced professionals to support the state-of-the-art 300mm semiconductor manufacturing and development in Malta, New York. The core responsibilities of this team involve ownership of process integration of semiconductor devices; monitoring performance and driving improvements related to technology yield, Cp/Cpk of inline and electrical parameters, defectivity, and more. The team is also responsible for the development of new and emerging technologies through definition/execution of experiments and technical data analysis. The ideal candidate can demonstrate a technical understanding of semiconductor principles and an understanding of a balanced scorecard approach to develop, sustain, and improve semiconductor technologies with quality, cost, and delivery all considered.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the power distribution system starting at the 115kV incoming power from National Grid into the GlobalFoundries HV yard, down to the 120V services to the office space and building lighting.
  • Complete predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on electrical equipment which include cleaning, inspections, infrared scans, tests and operational checks.
  • Operate and work with electrical test equipment such as Multimeters, Meggers, VLF tester, Ductor Meters, TTRs (Transformer Turns Ratio) Meters, Electronic Trip device testers, Infrared Scanners, etc.
  • Read and understand electrical schematics and one-line diagrams.
  • Partner with staff technicians, engineering and management team to create/review and identifying improvements to operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Partner with Engineering, Staff Technicians and other specialty technicians on various facilities improvement projects
  • Participation on the facilities Emergency Response Team may be required.
  • Qualify on the Factory Monitoring and Control System (FMCS) board.
  • Perform all activities safely and responsibly and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Physical Capacity Demands -
    • Ability to perform work in a standing position for majority of a 12-hour shift (excluding breaks)
    • Ability to lift, pull, and/or carry a minimum of 50 pounds on a periodic basis throughout the shift.
    • Ability to perform activities that include climbing vertical ladders, bending at waist, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, and crawling.
    • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment per semiconductor protocol/requirements.
    • Able to wear heavy duty PPE in accordance with Safety procedures, such as a 40 Cal/cm^2 Arc Flash suit.
    • Emergency Response Protocols and OSHA standards as a participating member of the Emergency Response Team (ERT) and become ERT/First Aid/CPR qualified.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:
  • 2 Year Technical associate degree in science, Math, Engineering, Semi-Conductor operations or a related discipline, OR Equivalent military training / experience OR HS degree with a minimum 4-year relevant electrical facilities experience
  • Knowledge of Electrical Safety Code (NFPA 70E) and National Electrical Code (NEC)
  • Language Fluency - English (Written & Verbal)
  • Ability to use computer programs such as Microsoft Office Suite.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate degree in electrical related field OR Equivalent Military Training/Experience
  • Ability to work with cross-discipline facilities teams.
  • Experience working with low, medium, OR high voltage electrical systems with a preference for experience in the semiconductor industry.
  • Knowledge in VFDs and Control logic systems, and heat trace systems
  • Experience with maintenance management system(MMS) software, like SAP

Expected Salary Range
$42,400.00 - $76,300.00
