We are currently recruiting for a Senior Technical Writer in partnership with one of Rochester's largest medical device companies. Shift: Standard office hours of 8am to 5pm
Project Duration: 12 months +
Pay: $50,000 to $65,000

Scope of the role:
We have an immediate need for this position. This is a long-term contract position as it is not based on any one particular project. This individual will be responsible for managing projects/timelines/deliverables in Workfront application for two product lines. You will also be responsible for creating/updating publications. You will be responsible for working with a team of 2 other writers and help manage their workload/assignments; however, they will not be responsible for the team members themselves. Lastly, this individual to provide status updates on projects they are assigned and represent our team at various different meetings.
The Responsibilities
- Produces technical publications and communications to support the safe and effective use of products.
- Project may include: technical manuals, online content, product labeling and instructions for use.
- Gathers technical information from various sources. Develops, writes, edits, and proofs materials that are complex in nature for internal and external customers.
- Review established documentation and recommend revisions or changes in scope, format, and content. Provide direction with the use of best practices for documentation hierarchy during documentation creation process.
The Individual
- We find that individual's with an educational background in the sciences do particularly well in this position
- Bachelor's degree preferred, or equivalent experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Experiences:
- Working in a regulated environment (we operate under FDA regulations)
- Content Management Systems, CSS and system design
- HTML, XML, DITA, FrameMaker experience a plus
