The Senior Technical Support Engineeris responsible for L3 Customer Support for Radisys' Media Server. L3 support responsibilities will include top tier customers located primarily in the North America region.
Required Qualifications / Technical Skills
- BS degree computer Science or Electrical Engineering.
- 8+ years' experience providing customer support with Telco Operations directly or via TEMS
- Platform & Systems experience in:
- Network Function Virtualization, and Containerization for carrier networks
- Kubernetes, OpenStack, and cloud-native technologies
- Working with Linux OS, covering IPCs, cloud images & build environments
- Understanding of Cloud-Native networking tools and technologies like Calico, Multus, SRIOV, PCI-Passthrough, Virtual Switching like OVS-DPDK or VPP (Good to Have)
- Understanding of Network stacks, switching, routing, etc
- Hands-on technical experience in the following:
- Building and deploying VOIP systems: Media Server, TAS, IMS core network elements
- Strong knowledge of SIP, MSML/MSCML
- Knowledge of RTP, RTCP and related RFCs
- Understanding of multimedia systems - Integration of audio and video codecs
- Understanding of pre/post processing components like Sample Rate Convertors (SRC), Scalars
- Telephony - Fax / DTMF (would be a plus)
- Strong C / C++ coding background
- Ability to debug complex issues within a real-time system
- Optional experience / exposure:
- Commercial or Opensource Cloud Infrastructure Platforms
- Container Orchestration and Automation platforms like Redhat Openshift or VMWare Cloud
- SDN concepts, Network Function Virtualization (NFV), and ETSI-MANO.
- Scripting languages like Python, Perl, etc.
- Must have strong analytical and debugging skills
- Must be an excellent communicator having proven successful customer management skills.
- Must have experience working with global cross-functional teams and flexibility to work across time zones.
