At Workmate Labs, we're building AI teammates and redefining the future of work. Today, knowledge workers spend as much time on administrative work as they do on their actual jobs. Our first Workmate is an AI Executive Assistant designed to address this universal challenge. By making human-level admin support 50x-100x cheaper and more accessible, we free people to focus on what matters most.
We are building a high-craft, AI-first product. We take problems that have historically had human solutions and use a first principles approach to solving them with AI. This involves thinking deeply about human behavior, psychology, and interaction as well as state-of-the-art developments in AI.

What You’ll Do
You will play a crucial role in shaping our future by attracting, cultivating, and hiring top talent in our technical organization (engineering & ML). We will depend on your expertise, judgment, and problem-solving abilities to drive the full-cycle recruitment process and set the pace to meet our hiring goals.
You will be responsible for standing up our technical recruiting process and implementing it in our ATS (Ashby). You will implement effective systems that create an awesome candidate experience and ensure we adhere to them, while not overburdening our small team.
Your role will be pivotal in defining the talent landscape, providing insights on market trends, and building a robust pipeline of high-caliber candidates. You will source applicants, screen resumes, interview, and assess candidates to provide qualified candidates to hiring managers.
You will foster relationships with past applicants and potential candidates to build networks, creating a rich talent pool for future needs. Finally, you will help manage relationships with search firms/agencies to drive timely and thorough sourcing of high-quality candidates.
Who You Are
Requirements
5-8 years of recruiting experience, with a focus on technical roles
Demonstrated success in using innovative sourcing strategies to attract passive candidates
Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and how to engage top talent in the tech industry
Proven track record in managing senior stakeholders and acting as a talent advisor
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging and influencing candidates and hiring teams alike
Ability to thrive in an unstructured, fast-paced, and dynamic environment
Experience implementing ATS software (e.g. Ashby, Greenhouse, Lever)
Bonus
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
Experience working at an early-stage or hyper-growth startup
Experience recruiting Machine Learning/AI/Data Science candidates
Able to source talent through social media channels and other networking activities
Familiarity with using AI tools for work (e.g. ChatGPT)
What Else?
This is a contract, hybrid role (1-3 days per week in NYC), but we are open to exceptional remote candidates. The reasonably estimated compensation for this role ranges from $50-70 per hour. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Salaries will vary outside of NYC.
