This position is under the Director of Information Security on the Data Encryption team. This role will oversee the development and rollout of data protection solutions for use across the enterprise. This is a people leader role and the successful candidate will manage a small team of engineers. This role will also collaborate with the Director and other team members to provide written and verbal updates to senior leadership.


Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of engineers responsible for delivering Data Protection solutions.
  • Collaborate with team members across Technology to drive on-time program delivery while establishing interdependencies, identifying risks, managing resource constraints, and eliminating roadblocks.
  • Drive the team’s product improvements and roadmap.
  • Drive the team's planning activities, ensuring dependencies are identified, and risks are mitigated.
  • Track progress, contribute to design discussions, issue resolution and remove obstacles to ensure milestone commitments are met.
  • Act as a first point of escalation, providing assistance and guidance throughout the program delivery.
  • Find opportunities for organizational improvement and lead key activities to support the team to ensure the desired outcomes.

Minimum Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or another technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 6+ years of experience in Technical Project management.
  • Strong knowledge of software and security principles.
  • Proven leadership and management skills in working with cross-functional, geographically distributed teams on complex projects.
  • Experience in managing Agile, Scrum, or other fast application development teams to deliver technology solutions that meet customer expectations for quality and timeliness.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively with third parties and technical and business teams
  • Experience in defining objectives, dealing with unclear/undefined problems, advocating for simplification, and influencing teams
  • Strong leadership skills with the proven ability to coordinate and influence team members from multiple internal departments.
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and communicate with senior leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

  • People leader experience is a plus.
  • PMI/PMP Certification is a plus.
  • Scrum Master Certification is a plus.
  • Experience using Jira agile delivery management platform.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.

Salary Range: $110,000.00 to $190,000.00 annually + bonus + benefits
